This policy explains how Overview Roofing ("we", "us") uses the personal information you give us through this website, by phone, by email or on WhatsApp, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). We only collect what we need to help with your roof, and we never sell it.

We are the data controller for your information, which means we decide how it's used and we're responsible for looking after it. For anything about your information, contact us using the details below.

What we collect
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- The address and postcode of the property, and what type of property it is.
- Details of the roofing problem or work you need, and any photos or documents you send.
- Your preferred date and time for an inspection, if you give one.
- Records of the quotes we give, the work we carry out and payments.
- Basic technical information needed to run the website securely, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting and spam check use to block attacks and spam.
- If you allow Google cookies, information about how you use the website (see our cookie policy).
Please only send photos of the roof or property. If a photo shows other people, make sure they're happy for you to share it. You don't have to give us any information, but we need your contact details to reply and the property address to inspect or quote.
How we use it and why
UK law says we must have a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:

We don't send marketing emails or texts, we don't add you to mailing lists, and we don't make decisions about you by automated means.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with people and services that help us run the business, and only as much as they need. They must keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we set.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and runs our forms and spam check.
- Resend sends the messages from our website forms, including any photos, to our email inbox.
- Google Workspace provides our business email, where enquiries are received and stored.
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads, only if you allow cookies, and the agency that manages our Google adverts, which can see the same reports.
- WhatsApp (run by Meta), if you choose to message us that way. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to its service.
- Our accountant, and HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it.
If you leave us a review on Checkatrade, Google or Facebook, that website's own privacy policy applies to your review.
Information stored outside the UK
Some of our providers, such as Cloudflare, Google and Resend, may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, it's protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK-US data bridge or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it

Keeping it safe
The website only uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only people who work for Overview Roofing can see your details, and we take care to keep the accounts that hold them secure.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it's wrong, or completed if it's missing something;
- have it deleted, unless we have to keep it, for example for tax records;
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a format you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for Google cookies, use ).

Complaints
